Reasonable Suspicion: What You Need To Know

This month's CASC of PA meeting we will be covering reasonable suspicion. Officer Todd Lindsay will be presenting as he shares some of his experiences over the past decade. Officer Lindsay has been a police officer since 1997. He has worked in the patrol function that entire time. In 2010 he was promoted to the position of Police Sergeant with the Silver Spring Township Police Department. He is also currently the Taser instructor as well as one of the firearms instructors for the department. In 2009 he became a Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) instructor. Shortly after becoming an SFST instructor he became certified through NHTSA & The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). In 2009 he also started working for the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office, Bureau of Justice Services, as a DUI Deputy Chief, and is still currently in that position. As a DUI Deputy Chief he is responsible for overseeing the DUI Checkpoints that are held in the county. Todd trains other police officers in SFST as well as making sure they are continually up to date on continual education requirements. In 2017 he was certified, again through NHTSA & the IACP as a DRE Instructor.
