May 17th Meeting Highlights

At May's CASC of PA meeting we had the privilege of hearing how UPS handles the threat of heat related illnesses from their Mid-Atlantic Occupational Health Supervisor Troy L. Burd. She spoke about the 3 stages of heat illness and how to prevent and/or treat each stage. We also had an opportunity to learn from Ashley Newcomer from Select Physical Therapy on how to better train employees on proper lifting strategies and stretching exercises to reduce the risk of injury on and off the job. The CASC team would like to thank both Troy and Ashley for taking time out of their day for our group.
